Zeigler Royalton school board members will tackle the tough district finances in a special meeting next week.

Zeigler’s teachers and staff were paid one week late this month – after nearly missing payroll altogether last month.

School officials blame the state and missing categorical payments that amount to nearly $350,000.

The school district employs 70 people.

That special board meeting is set for April 27.
