RANDOLPH CO- A little after 12:00 am Monday, police responded to a two-vehicle crash that occurred on IL Route 4 at Norton Lane near Sparta, Illinois.

Police discovered that Eric Wenzell, 31, of Percy was driving a 2014 Ford pickup truck northbound on Route 4 when his vehicle crossed the center line and entered the southbound lane of traffic.

Wenzell had collided head-on with another truck driven by Alan Schilling, 53, of Sparta.

The passenger of the second vehicle, Sarah Schilling, suffered fatal injuries.

All were transported to a St. Louis area hospital. Wenzell was charged with improper lane usage. More charges are pending as police continue their investigation.
