JACKSON CO- 2 of the Carbondale shooting suspects have pleaded not guilty at a preliminary hearing.

Their attorney states that they acted in self-defense

Travis Tyler and John Ingram of Missouri were each indicted as co-defendants on charges of aggravated battery with a firearm and aggravated discharge of a firearm. Their defense attorney Bryan Drew states that the two have valid concealed carry licenses in Missouri. But Drew was reminded by prosecutors that they’re not recognized in Illinois.

They also requested a bond reduction, but were denied by the judge. Both Ingram and Tyler will return to court on June 14, with a jury trial set for July 5.
