POPE COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) – The Pope County State’s Attorney was hospitalized after a traffic crash on Friday January 10.

The crash happened around 8am near Golconda. State’s Attorney Jason Olson was driving a Nissan going east on Highway 146 when it collided with a Southeastern Illinois Electric Coop truck going west.

Nissan was taken to Lourdes Hospital in Paducah then to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee for serious injuries.
