NEW MADRID COUNTY, Mo. (WJPF) – The New Madrid Fault Seismic Zone was active Monday.

Geologists recorded 7 tremors, all less than a 3 on the Richter Scale. No damage has been reported.

The New Madrid Seismic Zone is the most active in North America east of the Rockies. The US Geological Survey maintains that there is no scientifically plausible way of predicting earthquakes.
