CARBONDALE, Ill. – Single-game tickets for the upcoming men’s basketball season go on-sale today at 10 a.m., including a special “Banterra Center 60th Birthday Bash” sale for the home opener versus Missouri S&T on Nov. 8.

Ticket prices for the 2024-25 season start at just $10, and there are no added fees this season.

The Banterra Center, originally known simply as SIU Arena, first opened its doors on December 1, 1964, when the Walt Frazier-led Salukis beat Oklahoma State, 78-55.

Saluki Athletics will tip-off a season-long celebration of the arena’s 60th birthday with the Nov. 8 game, billed as the “Banterra Center 60th Birthday Bash.” Fans can purchase $6 seats using the promo code “BIRTHDAY”.

The opening-night game will feature music and never-before-seen photos from history-making concert performances at the Banterra Center during the past 60 years.

Prior to opening night, Saluki fans will have two special opportunities to see the team.

  • On Tuesday, Oct. 22, Saluki Athletics will host a Meet & Greet in the Charles Helleny Pavilion from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Players and coaches from both the men’s and women’s basketball teams will visit with fans and sign schedule posters. Fans will also have the opportunity to attempt one, half-court shot to win a pair of free season tickets. Season-ticket holders can pick up their printed tickets (if requested) and parking passes.
  • On Tuesday, Oct. 29, the men’s basketball team will host a free scrimmage versus Division III North Park at 6 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m., and kids can enjoy Halloween Trick or Treat activities, hosted by SIU’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), inside the Banterra Center leading up to the game. The scrimmage will be open-seating.

Season tickets start at just $125, or less than $9 per ticket. Convenient mini-plans allow fans to choose any four or six-game package in select sections, starting at $36.
