CARRIER MILLS, Ill. (WJPF) – An apartment building and city street were both damaged after a sinkhole opened up in Carrier Mills.

The hole began forming Sunday near the intersection of Russell and Mill Street. The suspected cause is mine subsidence. 

Local police have the area roped off until IDNR can arrive Monday to investigate further.
