CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) – Carbondale Police have released the name of the person stabbed to death Saturday and clarified previous statements made about the investigation.
Carbondale Police say Traeshonne Blythe, 31, of Carbondale was killed during a fight early Saturday morning in the 500 block of East Sycamore. Police say Blythe knew his killer and the fight involved the theft of a vehicle. As of Tuesday morning, no arrests had been announced.
Carbondale Police initially reported that a shooting was also a part of the fight. In a Monday press release, CPD says their investigators could not find any victims of a gunshot wound related to the incident.
