MT. VERNON, Ill. (WJPF) – One person has been arrested, a juvenile suspect remains at large in connection to a shooting in Mt. Vernon.

Mt. Vernon Police say Gabriel Ellinger, 18, of Mt. Vernon, was arrested Tuesday afternoon, less than one hour after the shooting in the 2000 block of Logan Street.  The victim was treated at a local hospital for a non-life threatening injury.

Gabriel Ellinger was charged with aggravated battery with a firearm and possession of a controlled substance. A male juvenile is still wanted by police.  Anyone with information can call Mt. Vernon Police at (618) 242-2131.
