CARBONDALE, Ill. – Southern Illinois senior infielder Steven Loden earned a spot on the ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Midwest All-Region Second Team, the American Baseball Coaches Association announced Tuesday (June 11).

Loden finished his second season in Carbondale leading the team in home runs (13), slugging percentage (.621), and RBIs with 50 even after missing nearly three weeks due to injury. Loden finished second on the team in batting average hitting .328 in 48 games.

The Lower Gwynedd, Pennsylvania native was one of the most consistent fielders for the Dawgs with a .989 fielding percentage, recording just two errors all season.

He strung together 19 multi-hit games to go with 10 multi-RBI games. He finished the season with a 17-game reached base streak dating back to late April.
