CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) – Two vehicles were damaged Saturday by gunfire in Carbondale.

Carbondale Police say a person fired the shots around 10:50 p.m. Saturday in the 700 block of South Lewis Lane in Carbondale and then fled the scene before officers arrived. No injuries were reported, but two vehicles at the scene were damaged.

Carbondale Police say a person of interest was seen running away from the area immediately after the shots were fired. Police describe that person as a Black man, wearing a green or dark blue hoodie, dark pants, and white shoes.
