CAPE GIRARDEAU, Ill. (WJPF) – Three suspects in a Cape Girardeau armed home invasion have been arrested in southern Illinois.
Cape Girardeau Police say around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, two armed men forced their way into a home in the 1100 block of Ranney Avenue and stole property from inside. A license plate reader helped police track the getaway vehicle to Alexander County. Police say they caught their suspects near Cairo less than an hour after the alleged crime.
The stolen property was recovered as were the guns believed to be used in the break-in.
