A large crowd turned out Tuesday night for Eldorado Unit #4’s special board meeting to address the incident at the Eldorado Holiday Tournament last week, in which one Eldorado player elbowed a Hamilton County player and resulted in the Hamilton County player stumbling and falling to the ground multiple times.

Following a 30 minute executive session, the board returned and voted to terminate with pay head boys basketball coach Josh Bradley, as well as assistant coaches TJ Zurliene, John DeBose, Adam Ninness, and Austin Bradley – who is also a member of the board.

Before abstaining from the vote, Austin Bradley apologized to the gathered crowd.

“I want to apologize to everyone who is here tonight,” Bradley said. “Regardless of your point of view on this incident, I do believe that your voice deserves a respect by this board.  I’m embarrassed that a decision is being made on this without any type of formal or thorough investigation or also without giving you the respect of hearing your comments or your concerns prior to a vote being made.”

Following that vote, the board then approved former Galatia and SIC coach Rod Wallace as interim head coach.

Josh Bradley was head coach of the Eldorado Eagles for the past 9 seasons.  Many came to the defense of Bradley and his staff during the public comments session of the meeting.

The Eagles host Carmi-White County Friday night.
