The IHSA released postseason assignments for boys and girls basketball on Wednesday.

Boys Basketball teams in Southern Illinois competing in 1A were met with a surprise.  For the first time since 2011, Southern Illinois University will not be the site for the 1A Supersectional in 2024.

Instead the IHSA has changed the site to Eastern Illinois University, who has not hosted a super since 2007.  The winners of the NCOE and Effingham St. Anthony Sectionals will meet at EIU on Monday, March 4th to determine who gets the bid to go to State.

SIU will still host the Supersectional.  The winners of the Benton and Shelbyville Sectionals will meet on Monday, March 4th.
