SALINE COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) –  A man has been sentenced for the sexual assault of a child in Saline County.

On Friday, December 1st, Tylar Lewis was sentenced to 60 years in the IL. Department of Corrections for the offense of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child and Aggravated Battery of a Child.

Evidence at the trial in August proved that in January of 2018, Lewis bit, burned and sexually assaulted an 8 month old child. Lewis left multiple bruises, cigarette burns and bite marks all over the child’s body. The jury also heard evidence that Lewis caused tearing and bleeding injuries to the child’s mouth and genitals.

Lewis must register as a sexual predator for life.
