DIX, Ill. (WJPF) – An alleged drug dealer is behind bars following a police chase through Jefferson County.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says Collin Sechrest, 23, was already under suspicion of transporting and selling narcotics when deputies attempted to pull his truck over Tuesday. Instead of stopping, Sechrest sped away, leading cops on a chase through Bonnie and Ina as well as on Interstates 64 and 57. Near the end of the pursuit, Sechrest’s truck hit a squad car; nobody got hurt.
In the truck, police found meth and a loaded handgun. Collin Sechrest, who was already on parole, was taken to the Jefferson County Justice Center.
