Saturday, Murphysboro High School posted a few administrative positions for hire, including their Athletic Director position for the 2024-25 school year.  That indicates that the 2023-24 school year will be current Murphysboro AD Len Novara’s final year leading the Red Devil Athletic Department.

Novara has been the Athletic Director at Murphysboro since 2000.  Upon the news being made known to the public, several in Southern Illinois sang their praises of the Red Devils AD, including Marion Athletic Director Ryan Goodisky.

“I’m sure they’ll find a good one but AD Len Novara is irreplaceable!” Goodisky stated, adding in an goat emoji at the end of the statement, signifying Goodisky was calling Novara the “Greatest of All Time.”

Du Quoin’s Athletic Director Derek Beard chimed in with a goat emoji as well stating “GOAT is correct!”
