Saluki Softball received a commitment on Tuesday for the recruiting class of 2024. Avery Hixson of Colorado Springs, CO is listed as a catcher and third baseman and she announced yesterday she plans to join Jen Sewell’s program after her senior season.

In her three seasons at Discovery Canyon High School, Hixson has played in 61 games. She has batted .386/.432/.522, drove in 47 runs, and struck out just 16 times.
Hixson has 18 doubles, three triples, and a home run in her high school career.
She’s an adept pickoff artist, throwing out 25 baserunners the past two seasons.
Hixson is one of many that have verbally committed to Saluki Softball out of the 2024 class, including Murphysboro power-hitting shortstop Sarah Cook; Peculiar, Missouri infielder Hayden Kurtz; and Kansas City, Kansas utility player Sage Grann.
