
Friday night, the Southern Illinois Coaches Association All-Star Football Game took place at Tabor Field in Benton.
The West came back to defeat the East in a stunner 20-17. In 90 seconds, the West turned the tables to take the lead from the East’s grasp. Sesser-Valier-Waltonville’s Carson Hoffard found Carterville’s Bryce Smith to give the West team a 13-10 lead with 5:30 left to play.
Carterville’s Riley Bradford picked off Centralia’s Carson Green for a pick six shortly after to get the West up 10.
Bradford was named the Game MVP. Murphysboro’s Devon Clemons was the West’s Offensive MVP while Sesser-Valier-Waltonville’s Brock Chelf was name dhte Defensive MVP. For the East, the Offensive MVP was Eldorado’s Parker Price and Hamilton County’s Hunter Rhodes was named Defensive MVP.
