The Illinois Shrine Bowl released their preliminary rosters Wednesday morning.  The Shrine Bowl is an All-Star Game for all football players across Illinois.

Five Southern Illinois athletes were named to the two teams that will compete on Saturday June 17, 2023 in the 49th annual Shrine Bowl at Tucci Stadium of Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, IL.

Representing the region on the Blue Team includes Murphysboro’s Devon Clemons (Running Back), Johnston City’s Isiah Watson (Cornerback), and Fairfield’s Payton Allen (Defensive End).

On the Red Team, Carterville’s Jordan Cordes (Defensive End) and Mt. Vernon’s Clifton Gammons Jr. (Tackle) will be the sole members from the Deep South of Illinois.

Kickoff on June 17 is scheduled for 11:00am.  Admission to the event costs $10 and can be purchased at the gate.
