RANDOLPH COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) – The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office is alerting the public about a recent bear sighting.

The sheriff’s office says a black bear was spotted Saturday night about two miles south of Evansville. 

Officials are encouraging the public not to approach the bear if they come in contact with it.  The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is aware of the sighting and have been in contact with their wildlife biologist.
