Friday afternoon Bellarmine guard Jaylen Fairman verbally committed to the NJCAA defending National Champion John A. Logan College.
“The history and tradition of the program,” Fairman said when asked what stood out most about Logan. “I went out for a visit and the people in the community showed love from the jump.”

Fairman is a 6’0 guard that weights 180 lbs. He hails from Jefferson, Indiana. In seven games with the Knights, Fairman averaged 5.4 points, 2.1 assists, and 1.9 rebounds.
He was quick to mention the likes of Jay Scrubb, Sean East, David Sloan, and Curt Lewis as players that had benefitted from the attending Logan and learning under the head coach Tyler Smithpeters and former head coach Kyle Smithpeters.
The Vols are seeking to reload their championship team that was heavily-laden with sophomores. Last year’s team only had three freshmen out of their 13 players and only Cobden-native Elliott Lowndes saw regular time on the court.
As a result, the Vols are seeking out players ready to win and ready to immediately contribute to the program.
“The biggest skill that I’ll bring to the team next year is my competitiveness and willing to do whatever to win,” Fairman said. “I’ll also lead my teammates and put everyone in position to be successful.”
