The area’s coaching carousel continued to turn Tuesday night.  The Sesser-Valier Red Devils approved the hire of Marcus Clarry for their boys basketball head coaching position.

A Du Quoin native, Clarry has been an assistant at Sesser-Valier since the 2013-14 season.  He served under both Shane Garner and Tommy Holder.

Last season, Clarry was the program’s junior varsity coach.

The Red Devils were 11-19 in the 2022-23 season and 5-8 in the Black Diamond – West.  Sesser-Valier picked up six of their 11 wins in the final month of the season.
