FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) – A death investigation is underway in Franklin County.

The human remains were found in a rural area of the county around 11:00 a.m. Wednesday. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says there were no signs of foul play and there is no ongoing threat to the public.

No other details have been released.
