A suspect in a 2021 Carbondale murder has entered a guilty plea.
Jackson County State’s Attorney Joseph Cerventez says 44-year-old Freddie R. Glasser entered the guilty plea. Sentencing is set for Oct. 25.
Officers responded to a home on South Marion Street to assist with an eviction. When they arrived, they found 61-year-old Melvin Edward with life-threatening injuries. He later died. Glasser was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
Glasser faces between 20 to 60 years in prison.
