SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (IRN) — After the director of the state’s child welfare agency was again found in contempt of court, the state’s leading House Republican is renewing his call for accountability.
House Minority Leader Jim Durkin said it’s been six months since there’s been a hearing into the issue.
In that time, he said the Department of Children and Family Services director has been held in contempt nine more times with a scathing audit highlighting the agency’s failures.
