MURPHYSBORO, Ill. (WJPF) – A Marion man has been charged with attempted murder in connection to shooting earlier this month in Carbondale.
Jackson County State’s Attorney Joe Cervantez announced charges Monday against Zoremoreyon Moore. The 18-year-old faces one count of attempted first degree murder, two counts of aggravated battery with a firearm, two counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm, and one count of unlawful use of a weapon. Cervantez said police were able to use a combination of city and privately-owned security cameras to investigate the shooting and bring the suspects into custody.
Moore, along with 19-year-old McKenzie Timms of Carbondale, were arrested in Marion last week in connection to the March 20 shooting that sent one person to the hospital. Timms was arrested on charges of concealing or aiding a fugitive and obstructing or resisting a peace officer.
Zoremoreyon Moore is being held in the Jackson County Jail on a $1 million bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 12.
