FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) – If you’re dealing meth in Franklin County, sleep with one eye open. That’s the message from Franklin County State’s Attorney Abby Dinn after 19 people were recently indicted on a total of 31 meth charges.
Dinn says the indictments were handed down by a grand jury on December 17 and many of the accused are now in custody. The undercover investigation spanned six months and was led by the Southern Illinois Drug Task Force with assistance from the Illinois State Police, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, and the West Frankfort, Zeigler, Christopher, and West City police departments.
The recent action brings the total of alleged meth dealers indicted in Franklin County in 2021 to 38.
