CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) — One person was hurt in a shootout Sunday in Carbondale.
At about 7:50 p.m. , Carbondale Police responded to a report of shots fired in the 1300 block of North Robert A Stalls Avenue. A building and three cars were hit by bullets, but no injuries were reported.
Then, about two hours later, police were called back to the same area for another report of gunfire. This time, police say the suspects were firing at a house and a person inside the house returned fire. Police say this person was a concealed carry card holder. Another person, a few blocks away, was hit by a stray bullet and taken to the hospital with a non-life threatening injury.
