WAYNE COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) — Illinois State Police are asking for the public’s help in finding the driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that injured an I-DOT worker.
It happened at about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday in Fairfield where workers were patching potholes on East Main Street.
Police say the 56-year-old I-DOT worker was climbing into a loader when they were hit by a white Chevrolet Cruze. They were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
