SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WJPF) — Governor J.B. Pritzker has ordered all flags in the state to be flown half-staff in honor of a Champaign Police Officer killed in the line of duty.

Officer Chris Oberheim was killed during a shootout on May 19. Another officer was shot three times, but survived. The suspect was shot and killed at the scene. 

Flags should be immediately lowered until sunset on Wednesday, May 26, 2021
