CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) — Interim Carbondale Police Chief Stan Reno has been hired on a permanent basis.

Beginning in January 2021, a seven person selection committee selected and interviewed four candidates for the job. From the four, two finalists were selected.

Reno was appointed interim police chief in October 2020. He’s a Carbondale native and has spent nearly 24 years with the Carbondale Police Department.
