CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) — Three Carbondale Police Officers have been recognized by the city for saving the life of a shooting victim earlier this month.

Officer Haled Saleh, Officer Dylan Yost, and Sergeant Timothy Lomax responded to the report of shots fired at a party on West Cherry Street in the early morning hours of April 11.

Carbondale Police say officers found the victim unresponsive and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The officers called for an ambulance, but when none were available, Officers Saleh and Yost loaded the injured man into the bed of a pickup truck and took him to the hospital.

The shooting victim is said to still be recovering from his injuries.

No arrests have been made.
