Elizabeth Warwick has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Warwick extended her reached base streak to 14-straight games after she helped SIU win three out of its four games last week. The freshman right fielder reached base at least once in all four of SIU’s games, which included a hit in three of them. The Chattanooga, Tenn. native slashed .364/.533/.818 with a triple, a home run, three runs scored, four walks and a team-best seven RBI.

Warwick went 2-for-3 with her first career home run and four RBI in SIU’s 10-2 win over Drake on Saturday and then went 1-for-2 with a walk, a triple and two RBI in Southern’s 7-1 win over the Bulldogs on Sunday.

The Salukis are back in action Wednesday when they host Missouri State for a doubleheader that begins at 12 p.m.
