HARRISBURG, Ill. (WJPF) — A pair of prescribed burns are scheduled Monday for parts of the Shawnee National Forest in Pope County.

Forest Service workers will conduct large burns at Double Branch, about 1 mile west of Eddyville, and One Horse Gap, about 6 miles east of Eddyville.

Sunday, prescribed burns were conducted in Jackson and Alexander counties.
