ST. LOUIS – Southern Illinois left guard ZeVeyon Furcron was named Missouri Valley Football Conference Offensive Lineman of the Week by the league office Monday, Mar. 15. It’s the first time Furcron has earned the honor in his collegiate career.

The Crest Hill, Ill., native graded out at 92 percent with five knockdowns in the win over No. 4-ranked Northern Iowa on Saturday. The Salukis rushed for 192 yards (4.4 average) and totaled 416 yards on offense against one of the MVFC’s top-ranked defenses.

Monday’s honor marked the fifth time this season that a Saluki has garnered league-wide acclaim. Nic BakerJavon Williams Jr.Nico Gualdoni and Blake Parzych have all earned various MVFC honors this season.

The No. 5-ranked Salukis (4-1, 3-1 MVFC) will look to win its fourth-straight game as the program welcomes in the No. 6-ranked South Dakota State Jackrabbits (3-1, 3-1 MVFC) on Saturday, Mar. 20. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m.
