According to preliminary data, last month was the 10th coldest February on record in Illinois.

The average statewide temperature in Illinois last month was 20 degrees, about 11 degrees below normal.  Total statewide precipitation came in at two inches, which helped with soil moisture, according to state officials.

The long term outlook calls for average to slightly below average temps and above normal rainfall.
