CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) — Two men have been arrested in connection to an armed robbery Monday in Carbondale.

At about 11:30 p.m., officers were called to a business in the 700 block of North Giant City Road. The victim told police that a man pulled out a handgun and took off with some cash.
With the help of a K-9 unit, Lashawn Russell, 49, of Chicago was found in the area. He’s been charged with Aggravated Armed Robbery, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, and Possession of Methamphetamine.
Police also arrested Hiram Jones, 42, of Carbondale for Obstructing Justice.
Russell was taken to the Jackson County Jail. Jones was released on a recognizance bond.
