CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) — Two people have been arrested in connection to car theft Monday in Carbondale.
Officers were called to the 900 block of West Main Street at about 10:00 p.m. after a report of a vehicle theft in progress. Police say the victim left their vehicle running and unlocked while they went inside of a business. When the victim exited the business, they found their vehicle had been stolen.
Police later located the vehicle, which was returned to the owner. Police also found key fob for a Kia. Officers are still trying to track down that vehicle’s owner.
Jordan Ross, 18, of Carbondale and juvenile male from Carbondale were taken into custody. Both men were later released, pending a court appearance.
