FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) — A 14-year-old was killed in a ATV accident Wednesday in Franklin County.
First responders were called to the scene of the crash at the intersection of Peach Orchard Road and West Center Road around 4:20 p.m.
Sheriff Dave Bartoni says the 14-year-old was driving the ATV south on West Center Road when they failed to stop at the stop sign and crashed into the side of a pickup truck that was traveling east on Peach Orchard Road.
The 14-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck was not hurt.
