
CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) — Carbondale Police are investigating an attempted robbery.
Police say around 6:00 p.m. Monday, a man approached the victim in the 400 block of East College Street, implied he had a weapon, and demanded the victim’s property. Instead of handing their property over, the victim flagged down a passing vehicle for help, scaring off the would-be thief.
The suspect is described by Carbondale Police as a white male, in his late 30’s or early 40’s. He stands about y 5’9″ tall and has shoulder length brown hair. The suspect was wearing a black leather jacket, a dingy white shirt, gray sweatpants, and black shoes.
