SALINE COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) — One person is dead following a single vehicle crash in Saline County.

Illinois State Police say Taryn Hopkins, 39, was travelling south on route 142 around 2:00 p.m. Wednesday when she failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle left the road, hit an embankment, became airborne, and hit a utility pole.

Hopkins, an Eldorado resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.
