OLNEY, Ill. (WJPF) — A 16-year-old girl is the latest person to be charged in the September murder of an Olney man.

On Wednesday, 18-year-old Rick Meador, also of Olney, was arrested in DeFuniak, Florida for the first degree murder of 19-year-old Kyle Johnson. At the time of Meador’s arrest, the 16-year-old was taken into what police called protective custody.

On Thursday, Illinois State Police announced that the 16-year-old had been charged with first degree murder by accountability. A third suspect, 33-year-old Tara Haws, also of Olney, also faces once count of first degree murder by accountability.

Meador and the 16-year-old are being held in a Florida jail, awaiting extradition back to Illinois.
