OLNEY, Ill. (WJPF) — An Illinois man has been arrested in Florida in connection to a murder last month in Olney.

Rick Meador, 18, was taken into custody Wednesday in the north western Florida town of DeFuniak. A 16-year-old girl, listed as missing and endangered in connection to the murder, was also found by police and placed in protective custody.

On September 6, 19-year-old Kyle Johnson was shot to death in Olney.

Rick Meador is being held in a Florida jail on first degree murder charges, awaiting extradition.
