ALTON, Ill. (WJPF) — A US Postal Service employee in the metro east has been charged with stealing mail.

Federal prosecutors say Tia Taylor, 27, stole four packages addressed to residents of Godfrey, Ill. Taylor was a clerk at the Godfrey Post Office.

Taylor is the second postal employee in the area charged this month with theft. Athens Shorey, 33, was also indicted for stealing mail containing checks from the Carbondale Post Office.
