CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) — A new ordinance, passed by the Carbondale City Council, will allow businesses to be fined if employees aren’t wearing a face mask.

Passed unanimously, businesses found violating the new ordinance could now be fine at least $250 per day.

Carbondale has had a mask mandate in effect since late July.
