Jackson County deputies responded to a fatal ATV accident involving brothers late Friday night.

Police say the incident occurred on Campground Road, near Ava, just after 10 p.m.

Killed in the accident was 44-year-old Jeremy Pierce, a former principal and coach at Elverado High School. His brother, 42-year-old Joshua Pierce, collided with his brother’s ATV head-on. Joshua was flown from the scene to a St. Louis hospital. Joshua was pronounced dead at the scene.
