The Mt. Carmel Golden Aces have received an invitation to the Little Illini Conference.
Mount Carmel received an official invitation to join the Little Illini Conference today, per a source.
This would make the Little Illini the home of Aces sports for the future. Mount Carmel departed from the Big Eight Conference in 2019 and has sought a new home since.

The Golden Aces will take the spot of Flora if their school board approves the move. Flora is set to join the Black Diamond Conference at the start of the 2021-2022 school year and take the spot of the departing Chester Yellowjackets – who are moving to the Cahokia Conference.
The move is currently just for this school year.
“The Little Illini Conference has approved Mt. Carmel High School to participate provisionally in recognized conference activities for the 2020-2021 school year,” Little Illini Conference President Paul Higginbotham said.
