CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) — Carbondale Police say over 75 individuals have been affected by thefts from mail collection boxes over the last several months.

Carbondale Police, along with the US Postal Service and US Inspector General, are conducting the investigation. They say mail containing checks were forged by the suspects.

Authorities say the suspects have been identified, but those identities can’t be released publicly until the suspects are formally charged.
