CARMI, Ill. (WJPF) — The body of a missing Eldorado man has been found in rural Gallatin County.

The remains of 32-year-old Chase Mitchell were found on Tuesday and were positively identified on Wednesday.

Mitchell was reported missing by his family on May 5.

A homicide investigation is now underway, led by Illinois State Police.
